Linda Pullan: Podiatry and Chiropody

Podiatry and Chiropody

Welcome

Linda Pullan is the principal podiatrist/chiropodist at the prestigious Harrow Health Care Centre. We pride ourselves on providing up to date treatments and techniques for all kinds of foot related problems, in a calm and welcoming environment.

Simple treatments include the day to day care of the foot, treatment of hard skin, callouses and corns, nail cutting and advice.

Our clinicians keep up to date with the latest developments in podiatry.

We regularly attend courses and conferences to keep abreast of new ideas, some of which now include revolutionary pain control in the foot such as orthotic devices and insoles to therapeutic laser and acupuncture.

Advanced treatments include specialised verruca treatments and treatment of difficult and painful nails with up to the minute techniques and expertise. Sometimes a local anaesthetic is needed to surgically remove the offending part of the nail. On request and with notice the offending nail may be able to be removed permanently by killing off the nail matrix (root) in that area only. However our patients comfort is paramount to us and we will liase with you every step of the way during any treatment.

We are now also able to offer laser therapy treatment. Laser light is known to be very healing and can help to clear skin conditions and alleviate pains that have not been successfully treated by other more conventional methods of pain control.

We now offer specialised acupuncture treatments (lower limb only) again for intractable pain in the lower limb that has not be helped by other methods and of course also for a variety of other foot problems.

The word PODIATRIST
is a relatively new word and title replacing the former word 'chiropodist'; the title is designed to give a more accurate description of our profession. HPC Logo It also brings us into line with other English speaking countries (for example America, Canada and Australia) that have never used the term 'chiropodist', however, old habits die hard and we do still occasionally use the word. Both these titles are now protected in law to safeguard the public. Your State Registered Podiatrist/chiropodist will have undergone a 3 year professional training ending with State Registration and membership of the Health Professions Council. These practitioners are the only ones permitted to work within the NHS.
